M/s Gogte Minerals with an aim to inculcate first aid awareness and to enable the workmen and staff working in all the mines located in Sindhudurg & Ratnagiri District of Maharashtra organized three day “First Aid Training Camp” at Redi under the aegis of “Directorate General of Mines Safety” from 14th Jan,2020 to 16th Jan,2020.St John Ambulance, a Non-Government Organization authorised to conduct the first aid training, had agreed and trained the 30 participants in First Aid for Three days.Dr. Jorson Fernandes, an eminent practicing ENT surgeon in Goa and parts of Maharashtra, and also Chairman of St. John Ambulance Association, Goa., trained the participants for 3 days. The First Aid Training Camp was attended by30 participants from all the mines (12 members from Redi Mine of Gogte Minerals, 5 from Gudeghar Bauxite Mine of ILPL, 5 from Kalane Mine of Minerals & Metals, 5 from Talauni Mine of Minerals & Metals and 3 from Maharashtra Minerals) in Sindhudurg and Ratnagiri districts of Maharashtra.
The camp included sessions on Burns, Heat and cold stroke, Choking, Drowning, Head injuries, Bleeding, Dog-bite, Snake-bite, fracture, bandaging and Asthma attack. All the topics were demonstrated by the faculties from JAA, Goa.
